The authors propose to apply the small parameter method for the investigation of possible stability loss by a rotating elastoplastic radially inhomogeneous stepped circular disc. A characteristic equation for the critical radius of the plastic zone is obtained at a first approximation. For various parameters of the disc, the values of critical angular rotational velocity are found numerically.
