The author is using quaternions to develope further the Dirac formulism. A general treatment of quaternions in quantum mechanics is given by \textit{S. L. Adler} [Quaternionic quantum mechanics and quantum fields. New York, NY: Oxford University Press (1995; Zbl 0885.00019)]. With the aid of quaternions ``it is shown that structure with three colors with charges of \(2/3\) and \(-1/3\) results with a minimum of assumption.'' It is also is stated by the author ``how color neutral particles are required for a positive definite probability.''
