Reply to comment on ``Electromagnetic momentum conservation in media'', by I. Brevik and S. Å. Ellingsen. (Q413167)

This is the reply by the authors to the comment by \textit{D. J. Griffiths} [ibid. 327, No. 4, 1290--1292 (2012; Zbl 1246.78006)] on their article [the authors, ibid. 326, No. 3, 754--769 (2011; Zbl 1213.78010)]. In the authors opinion, the concept of hidden momentum mentioned by David J. Griffiths does not help to clarify the Abraham-Minkowski momentum problem. The authors claim that it is more direct and natural to describe the difference between the Abraham and Minkowski cases in terms of the Abraham force density to be integrated over the volume as given in the article by the authors.
