A filtering method is suggested for simultaneous noise reduction and enhancement of signals. The method applies a fractal scalar conservation law which is the forward heat equation modified by a fractional anti-diffusive term of lower order. The performance of the suggested filter is evaluated by several numerical tests on various signals. The corresponding numerical simulations are based on finite difference schemes or FFT. According to the results the proposed filter outperforms the Savitzky-Golay filter.
