From the classical representation of real numbers by the continued-fracton-expansions, which is well-known by Gauss' problem, plenty of other fraction-representations (as for instance the nearest-integer-expansions) were further advanced.NEWLINENEWLINE In the present paper, the author deals with the alternating series expansions, of Sylvester-type, and studies a new construction of real numbers.
