This paper introduces unilateral approximation notions of some known symmetric tangency concepts. The necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of an approximation cone are given. Using some qualification conditions, the authors give a criterion in order that the constraint set of a mathematical programming problem is approximated by its linearizing cone.
