The authors show some common fixed point theorems in fuzzy metric spaces for fuzzy mappings satisfying a generalized contractive condition, thus extending results of \textit{S. C. Arora} and \textit{V. Sharma} [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 110, No. 1, 127--130 (2000; Zbl 0988.54047)].
