The classical Biot theory allows to reduce the title problem to partial differential equations expressed in terms of displacement of solid matrix and the pore-fluid pressure. These equations were solved in the previous authors' work [Int. J. Solids Struct. 38, No.~44-45, 8053-8064 (2001; Zbl 1037.74025)] under axisymmetric conditions by using the integral transform technique. Here the authors solve the equations under asymmetric conditions. The presented solution method could be useful in a variety of asymmetric wave propagation problems for poroelastic media.
