Utilizing skein algebras, and guided by invariance properties of the HOMFLY and Kauffmann polynomials, the author is able to define a sequence of invariants for trivalent graphs imbedded in 3-space. The author remarks that the first in this sequence is not sufficient to distinguish a certain pair of imbeddings of the theta graph.
