The Lasker-Noether theorem is concerned with the existence of primary decompositions. The author proves the existence of such a decomposition for submodules of unstable Noetherian modules over unstable Noetherian algebras. The adjective `unstable' denotes the presence of an unstable action of the Steenrod algebra which is required to be compatible, in an appropriate way, with all other structures present.
