A model of metal droplet evaporation in non-equilibrium arc plasma is considered. The aim is to produce a non-stationary mode of droplet heating in the case where the ionization of the vapor cloud accelerates the evaporation. It is observed that the evaporation regime changes to a non-stationary mode, this may be termed as self-accelerated evaporation. This process occurs both for low-melt and high-melt materials. It is observed that the range of background plasma concentrations is considerably wider when the material evaporation is accompanied by thermionic emission from the droplet surface.
