The authors continue the work started by \textit{J. Connor, M. Ganichev} and \textit{V. Kadets} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 244, No.~1, 251--261 (2000; Zbl 0982.46007)] to obtain characterizations of classical properties of Banach spaces with statistical convergence, introduced for the first time by H. Steinhaus and \textit{H. Fast} [Colloq. Math. 2, 241--244 (1951; Zbl 0044.33605)]. They prove a version of the Orlicz-Pettis theorem with the statistical Cesàro convergence.
