Univariate approximation of the Bernstein Durrmeyer type are at the core of numerical approximations and their applications. In this article the concept of modular convergence is used by the authors to compute such approximations to Mellin band-limited target functions. This approach is new; these target functions do not have to be continuous but belong to a more general function class, namely the Orlicz spaces.
