It is shown that a sufficiently general hyperplane section in a product of three curves of genus \(\geq 2\) has negative tangent bundle. This class of examples is not contained in Sommese's [\textit{A. Sommese}, Math. Ann. 268, 207-221 (1984; Zbl 0534.14020)] and does not contain it.
