This paper deals with an ergodic decomposition generated by a positive operator T on a Banach lattice E with the projection property. If, in addition, T is power bounded and E is a KB-space, then this decomposition yields sufficient conditions for the existence of nonzero T-invariant elements in E. The author also examines under what conditions there exists a T-invariant weak order unit.
