A nonlinear Dirichlet eigenvalue problem on the interval \([-1,1]\), involving the \(p\)-Laplacian, is considered. The number of positive solutions is studied under suitable convexity assumptions on the nonlinearity. The multiplicity result is based on the so-called time map method. Applications and examples are given.
