A doubly cross-diffusion system arising from pursuit-evasion models is studied in one space dimension. The system has two entropy-like stuctures but the continuation of solutions is delicate because of their insufficient regularity. The construction of weak global-in-time solutions is achieved through a fourth order regularization leading to a thin film type problem.
