Mirror extensions of local nets (Q883063)

In this work the author proposes, by means of operator algebras, a class of rational conformal field theories that seem not to be obtainable from cosets, orbifolds and usual procedures, thus providing an answer to a question formulated by \textit{E. Witten} in [``The search for higher symmetry in string theory'', Philos. Trans. R. Soc. Lond., Ser. A 329, No. 1605, 349--357 (1989; Zbl 0692.53048)]. To this extent, the author proves a theorem on extensions of local nets and applies it to diagonal inclusions, resulting in an infinite series of rational CFT with the properties commented above.
