A unique representation of the kinematic chain and the atlas database (Q883314)

The structural analysis and synthesis of mechanism kinematic chains have been the subject of many studies during the last years. In this aspect, the paper under review proposes a synthetic degree-sequence and a characteristic adjacency matrix of kinematic chains, and by composing them, a characteristic representation code is also proposed. On the base of this code, the authors develop a program to sketch automatically topological graphs. This code establishes a one-to-one correspondence with kinematic chains, and has been used in the development of a program which creates the atlas database of kinematic chains.
