A one-parameter family of second-order iteration methods (Q884601)

A new one-parameter family of iteration methods for finding simple roots of nonlinear equations is developed. Analysis of convergence shows that the new methods have order of convergence two. Numerical experiments show that the method is comparable to the well-known Newton method.
