This paper presents the application of periodic homogenization method to an elasto-plastic soil reinforced by regularly distributed array of columns. It is shown that the reinforced soil behaves macroscopically as an elasto-plastic material with complex strain hardening. Finally, the authors perform an evaluation of a settlement of a reinforced soil foundation.
