The authors provide a characterization of tight wavelet frames on local fields of positive characteristic. This result generalizes the well-known characterization of Parseval frames for the space \(L^2(\mathbb{R})\) by means of two basic equations in the Fourier domain (cf. [\textit{B. Behera} and \textit{Q. Jahan}, Collect. Math. 66, No. 1, 33--53 (2015; Zbl 1308.42029)]).
