The authors introduce a Laguerre-Legendre spectral scheme along with a domain decomposition method in order to solve some 2D linear exterior initial/boundary value problems. They provide details for this Laguerre-Legendre spectral scheme and show that in the case of two model problems their strategy enjoys the spectral accuracy.
