Using the transfer matrix method, the authors obtain analytical solutions which describe a multi-layered saturated poroelastic soil subject to circular loading. Fourier expansions, Laplace and Hankel transforms are used to obtain the above-mentioned solutions. Numerical results for two- and six-layered soils are compared with previous solutions from the literature.
