For several classical PDEs, e.g. Laplace, heat, it is possible to set up an isomorphism between solutions in a domain and their boundary values in suitable spaces of generalized functions. This program is carried out here in the case of a hyperbolic equation due to \textit{S. Bochner} [Proc. Conf. Differ. Equations, Maryland 1955, 23-48 (1956; Zbl 0075.280)] in a square domain. The isomorphism in question is constructed using series of Jacobi polynomials.
