[Vgl. das vorangehende Referat Zbl 0664.22003.] Zum Beweis von Satz A wird nun gezeigt, daß ein n-dimensionales Solenoid zu keinem Teilraum eines \((n+1)\)-dimensionalen euklidischen Raumes homöomorph ist. Der Beweis arbeitet mit homologietheoretischen Betrachtungen verketteter Sphären.
