The authors are concerned with the stationary Gierer-Meinhardt system subject to zero Dirichlet boundary condition in a smooth and bounded domain. Based on the construction of new sub- and supersolutions, the authors obtain existence and nonexistence results for new ranges of exponents. Also, the uniqueness of the solution is derived in any space dimension provided the exponents satisfy some additional conditions.
