The present research deals with the relative growth rate of two consecutive partial quotients and with the sets of liminf nature. That is, there are considered ``lacunarity properties of sequence of partial quotients for real numbers in their continued fraction expansions. Hausdorff dimension of the sets of points with different lacunarity conditions on their partial quotients are calculated''.\N\NIn a survey of this paper, investigations on the growth rate of the partial quotient, as well as on the Hausdorff dimension of sets obeying some restrictions on the partial quotients, are briefly described. The important role of continued fraction expansions in Diophantine approximations and dynamical systems is discussed. Auxiliary notions and results are recalled.
