In the present paper, based on a kinematic mapping for the group \(\mathrm{SO}(4)\) of displacements of Euclidean 4-space, it is shown, that the mapping of basic elements like points, oriented lines, oriented planes, oriented hyperplanes, instantaneous screws, etc. can be written compactly in terms of \(2\times2\) quaternionic matrices. Finally, the fundamentals of the velocity analysis, namely instantaneous screws and their geometric parameters are also studied.
